Hormone Health Part Six

It’s my great pleasure, in Hormone Health Part 6, to introduce you to exceptional practitioners in the world of hormone health.

The videos I have chosen, featuring these practitioners, cover everything from Hashimoto’s, eating disorders, Acne, Eczema, PCOS, Menopause etc etc…

Dr John Bergman

I love this guy! His laugh makes me giggle, plus his presentational style really works for me. And, because he’s so darned knowledgeable and helpful you will find videos from him all over the Wild As The Wind website.

Dr. Felice Gersh

Dr. Felice Gersh is a very empowering and outspoken female voice on the subject of female hormones…

She talks about ‘the curse’ being ‘the gift’ and the very understated term menopause being a condition of profound medical implications.

Bone health, inflammation, Hypertension our Circadian Rhythm and other major facets of health are covered in this immensely watchable video interview.

The video interview with Dr. Felice Gersh below is probably the most important video on female hormones on this website. Please watch it all. It’s amazing… and please share all of the information on this page with your daughters, sisters and mothers… and with all of your friends! It’s important!

Dr. Afrouz Demeri

Dr. Afrouz Demeri is a great speaker on all aspects of hormonal health, but I haven’t been able to find a suitable video on YouTube to reflect the true scope of her capabilities…. but, those with Thyroid issues will learn a lot from this video.

Dr. Patrick Flynn

I like Patrick Flynn a lot because he tells cyclic women to avoid stress, at all cost, between day fourteen and day twenty-one of their monthly cycle. The reason he does this is because he knows that stress during this stage in the hormonal cycle is what causes terminal illnesses in women.

I also like him because he has four daughters, which means he lives in a household with five females, as a lone male. Good man!

Hormones & Acne

Start this video on hormones and acne at: 7.30 minutes

Here Dr Patrick Flynn blows the gaff on Accutane, telling us the reason why it works is because of the high levels of synthetic vitamin A… which cause liver problems!

My advice regarding synthetic vitamins is avoid them like the plague. The body hates anything synthetic. Get your vits from food wherever possible, and only supplement with natural sources of vitamins in emergencies!

Food is littered with synthetic vitamins, so it’s just as important to avoid processed food as it is synthetic vitamins.

Synthetic Vitamin C is EVERYWHERE… avoid anything with ascorbic acid wherever possible!

This is one of the areas Patrick Flynn and I disagree… he says

Gall Bladder & Vitamin A

If you have your Gall Bladder removed, one of the many, many problems this causes is skin issues. Your Gall Bladder processes Vitamin A, so without Vitamin A you will have skin problems…

Patrick Flynn explains this in the video above.

PCOS & Acne

DHT makes everyone skin look good, but men are meant to have more of it than women… It’s what makes their skin a bit tougher than typical female skin. But, people with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome have too much Testosterone… In the video above, Flynn explains why Acne in women with PCOS is all about Testosterone conversion to DHT… and because PCOS is ‘cystic’ and so is Cystic Acne!

Hormones & Stress

Stress is the major cause of ill-health there is. We need to reduce our stress levels… The following two videos are dedicated to female health, our stress levels and what we need to do to get well and feel happy…

I love that Patrick Flynn says the following…

If you can’t eat it, it doesn’t belong on your skin

But, his advice on food is often more than a little off… he advocates eating sugar. This is just plain WRONG! Just because he likes to eat sugar, and he hasn’t figured out how to stop, he’s giving us some bad advice. Ignore it!

Otherwise, his advice is really rock solid, and we should definitely watch the videos below!

Magdalena Wszelaki

Like Angelique Panagos Magdalena Wszelaki was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, but also suffered from awful Acne and Eczema when she was younger.

Please note, whilst Magdalena Wszelaki advocates against taking synthetic hormones, she says in some extreme cases ‘bio-identical’ hormone replacement should be considered. I would only advocate for this if the person needing this protocol was at deaths door, and not for anyone else!

Start the video a couple of minutes in to skip the preamble…

Angelique Panagos

Angelique Panagos is a London based Nutritionist who specialises in weight management, stress, digestion and hormonal health.

I love Angelique Panagos, because she is immensely accessible whilst also being profoundly professional. She is deeply knowledgeable and incredibly passionate.

Angelique Panagos has also been through it all… eating disorders, Hashimototo’s, PCOS, (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), etc, etc… And, she shares it all with us completely openly, and I think, bravely…

Stress Hormones

Stress hormones are a massive problem these days… The information age is exhausting us. We are massively over stimulated by a lot of depressing news from around the world, and from our increasingly demanding work lives, as well as dealing with a lot of uncertainty and financial worries in the form of Brexit etc… and, we are relying more heavily on sugar and caffeine to get through the day. Not unsurprisingly it is also disastrous for our health!

We are getting locked into a state of ‘fight or flight’, where the hormones Cortisol and Adrenalin are coursing around our bodies, pretty much all of the time…

This is a dire state of affairs, that, if left unchecked, will, without doubt, put us in a very early grave…

We Need To Learn To Relax!

And fast! The following video starts with a great breathing exercise, and then leads into an excellent description of how our hormone system works.
